Louder Together Women’s Project- Strong Women an exhibition for Black History Month

Louder Together is a women’s project that works to bring women together over common themes and celebrates women.
To celebrate Black History Month, we are curating an exhibition about Strong Women, to be held in the Coterie Gallery in Riverside Precinct throughout October.
We are looking for poems, images, statements about the strong BME women that have had an impact on your in your life. It can be a relative, friend, a neighbour, someone in the community, or a celebrity you admire, someone from history who has inspired you.   But they must be BME.

An Introduction to Plein Air with Chris Slater @ Steel Heart (Rotherham town centre), Saturday 29th September, 11am-3pm:

ROAR member and plein air artist Chris Slater will be giving an introduction to Plein Air art on Saturday, September 29th in Rotherham town centre.

Participants will hear from Chris directly as he gives an overview of how he approaches the technique of “en plein air” or painting outdoors. The afternoon will then be given over to attendees to give it a go for themselves.

This unique opportunity is free to attend, however please note that you will need to bring your own equipment (a board/canvas, paints, brushes and a palette).

A number of easels will be made available on the day but for access you must have booked on with us first.

Creative Framing with Ken Horne @ ROAR Artspace, Saturday 20th October, 10am-2pm:

Ever struggled to find the perfect frame for your piece of work?
On October 20th Ken Horne will explore new creative ways of making frames. The 4 hour workshop will attempt to break out from the traditional way of framing, exploring new mediums and possibilities.
The course will run from 10am until 2pm on Saturday the 20th of October here at ROAR Artspace
Please bring your own ideas and any materials you might want to use.
ROAR will provide all tooling and a selection of limited materials will be made available.
