Skillshares Are Back!
Starting with Introduction to Drawing - 8th April
We’re so excited to announce that our Skillshare sessions are officially BACK for 2025! After a hugely successful series last year, we’re bringing our community-driven initiative back to continue fostering growth, collaboration, and creativity within the ROAR family.
When we launched the Skillshare concept, it was with a simple yet powerful vision in mind: to create a thriving arts community, where members not only share their skills but also grow together. Our aim is to provide opportunities for self-sufficiency, where artists of all backgrounds and expertise can come together, learn from one another, and help each other reach new creative heights.
We all know that the world of art is ever-evolving, and at ROAR, we believe that no one is ever truly done learning. Every artist, no matter how experienced, has something valuable to share. Whether it’s a new technique, a fresh perspective, or a breakthrough idea, the magic happens when we open up, share, and learn together. This ethos is at the heart of our Skillshare program, where learning isn’t just about gaining new technical skills, but also about deepening our connections and building a strong, supportive artistic community.
So, whether you’re just starting your creative journey or looking to refine your practice, our Skillshares offer a fantastic opportunity to engage, collaborate, and explore new possibilities.
What’s Coming Up First?
We’re kicking off our Skillshare series with something truly foundational: an Introduction to Drawing. Whether you’re an absolute beginner or someone looking to revisit the basics, this session is perfect for anyone wanting to reconnect with their mark-making process.
In this session, we’ll be focusing on the fundamentals of drawing in a relaxed and friendly environment. Drawing is such an essential skill for all kinds of artistic practices, and this session will give you the opportunity to try different materials, experiment with mark-making techniques, and explore how to build confidence in your drawings. Most importantly, we want everyone to feel comfortable and supported as they try something new, whether it’s your first time picking up a pencil or you’re revisiting the basics after a break.
Details for the first session:
Date: Tuesday 8th April
Time: 10am - 12pm
Location: ROAR Artspace
What to bring: Just yourself, and any materials you’d like to experiment with! If you’re not sure where to start, we’ll have some basics covered for you.
It’s all about making mark-making feel like fun again, in a relaxed and supportive environment. No pressure—just the space to explore and discover new techniques at your own pace.
Looking Ahead: Full Schedule Coming Soon
This is just the beginning! We’ll be releasing a full schedule of Skillshare sessions for the rest of the year, with something for everyone.
