Caroline Lee
Caroline is a Bramley-based ceramic artist, a trained teacher and workshop leader. She has 16 years experience teaching pottery to people of all ages /abilities including participants with difficulties, in a multitude of scenarios and for many varied organisations.
Partnership with, for example, Bramley-Sunnyside Junior School, Sheffield Childrens’ Hospital and Friends of Boston Castle have had additional outcomes such as installations and commissions (see her website).
She enjoys teaching pottery on the wheel in her studio on a one-to-one, have-a-go / gift experience basis. She offers space in her kilns for a small charge as a stop-gap for people until they can have their own kiln. From time-to-time she hires a large Raku kiln and carries out Raku-pottery firing workshops.
Caroline travels widely throughout the north of England selling her work at art, ceramics and craft fairs and has recently opened a shop on Etsy. Amongst her extensive works, she specialises in ceramics for gardens, Raku-fired pottery, fine porcelain Christmas tree decorations and functional stoneware. She designs and uses bespoke tools in her work to create unique pieces. Current work includes a deep focus on wheel-thrown form in order to present the marriage between 2 green glazes on functional ware.
